Come join this retreat designed to foster connectivity between poets and composers. Participants will experience the opportunity to work with colleagues and faculty that specialize in different art forms and the intersectional relationship between those art forms. Readings and performances are a major facet of the program, culminating in a concert featuring work composed inspired by poetry written during the retreat. Explore Portugal and immerse yourself in art, literature, and music.

About Us
All art forms and artists draw upon similar fountains for inspiration. The Doorway Effect immerses poets and composers together in a single melting pot to exchange ideas, discuss our processes and experiences, and create new compelling art. Through these multidisciplinary experiences we can gain further insight into the human condition and create exciting dialogues between our worlds.
The Doorway Effect provides individual mentorship and lessons as well as a robust seminar program. Opportunities for reading and performances are available. Find yourself immersed in the creative community of Porto with sustained artistic attention, a good mixture of poetry and music and time for learning coupled with time for solitude. The week culminates in a performance at Auditório Francisco de Assis in Porto.
